PDF Tools

Merge PDF
Does merging PDFs upload my files to a server?

Whenever possible, processing happens right in your browser (WASM) and your file never leaves your device. Only if your browser can't complete the job does it fall back to our secure server.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

There's no limit — combine as many PDFs as you like, in order, into a single file.

Can I change the order of the merged files?

Yes, after uploading you can move files up or down to set the order.

Split PDF
How do I split a PDF?

Upload your file, then specify page ranges or download every page as a separate file.

How are the split files delivered?

When more than one file is produced, they're all downloaded together as a single ZIP archive.

Is the original page quality preserved?

Yes, splitting doesn't recompress pages, so the original quality is preserved.

Edit PDF
Is my file uploaded to a server when I edit a PDF?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your PDF never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers.

What can I add to a PDF?

You can add text boxes, rectangles and freehand drawings. In multi-page documents you can annotate each page separately.

Are special characters rendered correctly?

Yes, a Unicode font is used, so accented and non-Latin characters are written without any issue.

Rotate PDF
Can I rotate only certain pages?

Yes, you can apply the rotation to all pages or to a single page.

Can rotation be undone?

Your original file stays unchanged after processing — a new output file is generated.

Which angles can I rotate by?

You can choose 90, 180, or 270 degrees.

Add Watermark
Can I adjust the watermark's transparency?

Yes, you can freely adjust both the opacity and the angle.

Is the watermark added to every page?

Yes, the text you enter is added the same way to every page of the PDF.

Can the watermark be removed?

The watermark is embedded into the document content, so to remove it you'll need to keep a copy of the original, watermark-free file.

Compress PDF
Does compression damage file quality?

It depends on the quality level you choose — balanced mode keeps visual quality largely intact while noticeably shrinking the file size.

How much size reduction can I expect?

It varies with the file's content (especially how image-heavy it is); scanned PDFs typically see the biggest reductions.

Can text-based PDFs be compressed too?

Yes, though the size savings on text-heavy PDFs tend to be more modest than on image-heavy ones.

Bates Numbering
What is Bates numbering?

It's the practice of adding a unique, sequential identifier to every page of a legal document.

Can I customize the number format?

Yes, you can set the prefix, starting number, and digit count.

Where is the number placed?

You can choose any of the page's four corners.

Repair PDF
What kinds of corruption can be repaired?

Structural issues like a broken xref table or missing trailer can usually be repaired; if a large part of the file is physically damaged, recovery may be limited.

Does the repair change the content?

No, only the file's structure is rewritten — the page content is preserved.

Add Page Numbers
Can I choose the page number format?

Yes, you can choose a number-only format or one that shows the total, like "1 / 12".

Where is the number placed?

You can choose the left, center, or right position at the bottom of the page.

Crop PDF
Does cropping delete content?

No, cropping only narrows the visible area; the original content stays stored in the file.

Is the same crop applied to every page?

Yes, the margins you specify are applied equally to every page.

Organize Pages
Can I remove some pages entirely?

Yes, any page you leave out of the new order is excluded from the output file.

Can I use the same page more than once?

Yes, you can repeat a page by listing its number more than once in the order.

Compare PDF
Can I compare PDFs with different page counts?

Yes, comparison runs for the number of pages they share in common, and the difference in page count is reported separately.

How is the result presented?

Visual diff files for pages that differ, plus a summary report, are downloaded together as a ZIP.

Extract Images from PDF
What does this tool extract?

It extracts the raw image objects embedded in the PDF; it doesn't add AI descriptions or tags, it only pulls out the images.

What's the output format?

All extracted images are bundled together in PNG format inside a single ZIP archive.

Extract Pages
Can I also change the page order?

Yes, pages are arranged in the output file according to the order you specify.

Can I select the same page more than once?

Yes, for example entering 1,1,2 places the first page twice and the second page once in the output.

Split Pages in Half
When would this tool be useful?

It's for when you've scanned two book pages as a single image and want to split each into its own PDF page.

Does the page count double in the output?

Yes, every original page is split into two separate pages.

N-up (Multiple Pages per Sheet)
Does the aspect ratio get distorted when pages are shrunk?

No, each page is fit into its grid cell with its aspect ratio preserved.

What happens if the page count doesn't divide evenly by the N I chose?

The remaining cells on the last sheet are left blank — no pages are lost.

Optimize for Web
What is linearization (fast web view) for?

It lets the browser display the first page before the whole file has downloaded — this speeds up opening for large PDFs shared on the web.

Does the file content change?

No, only the file's internal structure is reorganized; the visible content stays the same.

Overlay PDF
What happens if the two PDFs have different page counts?

The last page of the overlay PDF is reused for any extra pages in the base PDF.

How is this different from the Compare tool?

Compare shows the differences between two PDFs; Overlay combines the content of two PDFs onto a single page (e.g. to stamp a letterhead template).

Security

Encrypt PDF
What encryption standard is used?

AES-256, one of today's strongest PDF encryption standards.

What happens if I forget my password?

We never store your password, so if it's forgotten there's no way to access the file's contents.

Is the open password the same as the permissions password?

The user password is required to open the file; an optional owner password adds separate permission controls.

Remove PDF Password
Can I open a PDF whose password I don't know?

No — for security reasons, protection is only removed when you supply the correct password; we don't attempt brute-force cracking.

Does removing the password change my file?

Only the encryption layer is removed; the content stays the same.

Sign PDF
Is my signature legally valid?

This produces a simple electronic signature (SES); it is not a qualified e-signature, so legal validity depends on your intended use.

Can multiple people sign the same document?

Yes, both sequential and parallel multi-signer flows are supported.

How is the integrity of the signed document verified?

After signing, a SHA-256 content-integrity seal is embedded in the document.

Redact PDF
Is this actually secure, or just a visual box?

This is true redaction — the marked page is converted to an image and the underlying text/image content underneath is completely erased, not just covered with a box.

Does the page stay searchable after redaction?

No, since redacted pages are converted to images, their text can no longer be searched or copied — this is an accepted trade-off for guaranteeing true concealment.

How do I determine the coordinates?

You need to enter x/y/width/height values in the PDF page's own units (points, with the origin at the bottom-left corner).

Flatten Form
Can form fields still be edited after flattening?

No, after flattening all form fields become fixed content and can no longer be filled in.

How is this different from the flatten option in PDF Forms?

This tool is a separate, quick entry point for people who just want to flatten the existing field values without filling out the form first.

Edit/Clean Metadata
Does clearing metadata affect the document content?

No, only invisible metadata like title/author/keywords changes — the page content stays the same.

Why would I want to clear metadata?

It's used for privacy (hiding the document's history/author) or for organizational consistency (standardized title/author info).

Document Conversion

Image to PDF
Can I change the order of the images?

The order you add images in is reflected in the resulting PDF pages.

Which image formats are supported?

JPG and PNG formats are supported.

PDF to Word/Excel/PPT
How accurate is PDF-to-Word conversion?

Text, tables, and basic formatting are largely preserved; very complex layouts may show small differences.

Can I convert to Excel and PowerPoint too?

Yes, you can choose Word, Excel, or PowerPoint as the target format.

OCR (Scanned PDF)
What does OCR do?

It adds an invisible, searchable, and copyable text layer to scanned (image-based) PDFs.

Which languages are supported?

Multiple language options are available, including Turkish and English.

Does the original image change?

No, the page image is preserved — only a text layer is added behind it.

Convert to PDF/A
What is PDF/A for?

It's a standard designed for long-term archiving; by requiring fonts and color profiles to be embedded in the document, it guarantees the file can still be opened in the future.

What's the difference between a regular PDF and PDF/A?

PDF/A has no external dependencies (external fonts, JavaScript, encryption), which makes it suitable for official archives and legal retention.

TXT/RTF to PDF
Is RTF formatting preserved?

No, only the plain text content is taken from an RTF file; formatting like fonts, colors, and tables is not preserved.

Do long texts spread across multiple pages?

Yes, text is automatically split onto new pages at the page boundary.

PDF to TXT
Can text be extracted from scanned (image) PDFs?

No, this tool extracts the existing text layer; for scanned documents you'll need to run the OCR tool first.

Is the page layout preserved?

No, the output is plain text — visual layout like columns or tables is not preserved.

PDF to HTML
Does the output HTML look pixel-identical to the PDF?

No, this first release is content-focused — text is split into sections by page, but pixel-precise layout is not preserved.

Can I open the HTML file in a browser?

Yes, the downloaded file is a standard HTML file that opens in any browser.

PDF to SVG
Is the output real vector graphics?

No, each page is rendered to a high-resolution image and embedded inside the SVG — the file is in SVG format, but the content is an image, not vector graphics.

How is the output delivered for multi-page PDFs?

When there's more than one page, all the SVG files are bundled together into a single ZIP archive.

SVG to PDF
Are the vector shapes in the SVG preserved?

No, the SVG is rendered to a high-resolution image and embedded in the PDF page; the output looks visually identical but isn't vector graphics.

What page size does the output PDF get?

It's determined automatically from the SVG file's natural dimensions.

Extract Images from PDF (Raw)
How is this different from AI Image Extraction?

This tool only extracts the raw images; the AI version also adds AI-generated descriptions and tags.

What's the output format?

All extracted images are delivered in PNG format, named by page number, inside a ZIP archive.

Word/Excel/PPT → PDF
Which Office formats are supported?

Word (.doc/.docx), Excel (.xls/.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx) files can be converted to PDF.

Is formatting (fonts, tables) preserved after conversion?

Yes, the LibreOffice engine preserves the layout to a large extent; very unusual fonts and macros are not carried over to the PDF.

PDF → Markdown
How accurately is the heading hierarchy (H1/H2/H3) detected?

Headings are inferred with simple rules such as line length and numbering; since PDFs carry no real heading tags, some lines may be classified incorrectly.

Are tables and images exported to Markdown?

No, only text and links are extracted; table structure and images are not carried over.

HTML/URL → PDF
Is dynamic content generated by JavaScript included in the PDF?

Yes, the page is opened in a real browser (Playwright) and converted to PDF only after the content has loaded.

Do password-protected or login-required pages work?

No, only publicly accessible pages can be converted.

Image Tools

Convert Image Format
Which formats can I convert between?

You can upload HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, TIFF, and AVIF as source formats, and choose JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, TIFF, or AVIF as the target format.

Can I upload a HEIC photo straight from my iPhone?

Yes, HEIC/HEIF files are supported as a source format and are automatically converted to your chosen target format. HEIC cannot be selected as a target format.

Does conversion cause quality loss?

There's no quality loss when converting between lossless formats (PNG, BMP); converting to a lossy format like JPG/WEBP may introduce slight quality loss.

Audio Converters

Convert Audio Format
Which audio formats can I convert between?

You can convert in either direction between MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, WMA, and OPUS. You can also upload AIFF as a source format (it can't be chosen as a target).

Is there a file size or duration limit?

Yes, there's a limit of 100 MB and 60 minutes per file.

What does the quality preset do?

For conversions to lossy formats (MP3/AAC/OGG/WMA/OPUS), it sets the bitrate — lower gives a smaller file, higher gives better audio quality. Since WAV and FLAC are lossless, this setting doesn't appear for them.

Can I trim, change the volume, or change the speed?

Yes, the 'Advanced settings' section lets you trim a section, adjust volume (-20/+20 dB), and change playback speed (0.5x-2x).

Extract Audio from Video
How do I extract audio from a video?

Upload your video file and choose a target audio format (MP3/WAV/AAC/M4A) — the picture is discarded and only the audio track is produced as a downloadable file.

Will the audio quality match the video's?

It can't exceed the source audio's quality, but the bitrate is set according to the quality preset you choose (low/medium/high).

Merge Audio
Can I merge audio files in different formats?

Yes — for example, you can upload an MP3 and a WAV together. Each file is first converted to a common intermediate format, then combined into a single file in your chosen target format.

Can I change the order of the files?

Yes, after uploading you can move files up or down to set the merge order.

How many files can I merge?

At least 2 files are required, with no upper limit — add as many as you like as long as the total duration stays under 60 minutes.

Video Converters

Convert Video Format
Which video formats can I convert between?

You can convert between MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WEBM. You can also upload WMV, FLV, 3GP, TS, and VOB as source formats (they can't be chosen as a target).

Should I choose MP4 or WEBM?

MP4 (H.264) has the broadest device and browser compatibility. WEBM (VP9) uses a royalty-free codec and generally produces smaller files, but some older devices may have trouble playing it.

Can I lower the resolution?

Yes, you can downscale the video with the 480p/720p/1080p options. This only reduces resolution — it can't produce a resolution higher than the source video.

Is there a file size or duration limit?

Yes, there's a limit of 500 MB and 20 minutes per file.

Can I crop, rotate, or change the audio of the video?

Yes, the 'Advanced settings' section lets you trim a section, adjust volume and playback speed, and rotate the video by 90°/180°/270°.

Video to GIF
Why is the GIF duration limited to 15 seconds?

GIF compression is far less efficient than video — long clips quickly turn into huge files. 15 seconds is a practical upper limit.

Why does the GIF quality sometimes look low?

The GIF format supports at most 256 colors. Our tool uses two-pass palette optimization to produce the best possible quality within that limit.

GIF to Video
Why would converting a GIF to video help me?

Video files end up much smaller than GIFs, and most social media platforms prefer a short video over a GIF.

Does the output video have sound?

No, GIF format never contains audio, so the output video is silent.

Merge Video
Can I merge videos with different resolutions?

Yes, clips with different resolutions or aspect ratios are automatically fitted to a common resolution (with letterboxing) so they merge smoothly.

Can I change the order of the files?

Yes, after uploading you can move files up or down to set the merge order.

How many files can I merge?

At least 2 files are required, with no upper limit — add as many as you like as long as the total duration stays under 20 minutes.

Add Subtitles to Video
Which subtitle formats can I upload?

You can upload subtitle files in SRT or VTT format.

What's the difference between burning in and a separate track (mux)?

Burning in permanently renders the subtitles into the video — visible in every player but can't be turned off. A separate track can be toggled on or off if the player supports it, and the video picture itself stays unchanged.

Does the separate track (mux) option work with every format?

No, it's only supported for MP4 and MOV targets. If you choose WEBM, subtitles are automatically burned in instead.
